Pomising GOD-Poetry

Promising God By Kacie Lampman

Tonight you cry, letting tears fall not bothering to wipe them away
You just want a peace of mind; you don't want to hurt tonight
Everything you are must be perfect, you hide the flaws.
Every wrinkle ironed out, every nail painted perfect
But that’s not how it turned out, no not tonight, not now

Your dress torn into shreds, your hair flying everywhere
The pain you feel now, you cannot tell anyone
They won't believe you; they might just think you're a liar.
But you know the truth; you have a voice to speak up to scream
But you let it silence you; you stay as silent as long as possible

For the fear you have that he will come to kill you if you tell
So you hide it away deep down inside you, buried in the rest of your life
No one cares anyway
You have no parents they left you long ago, when they died
The only family you have left is normally gone, and leaves you there alone

He doesn't know of the pain you suffer
All he knows is the life of a rock star, his band is everything, why would he care?
What will you do, who will you tell
It’s been a long time since it happened, would anyone believe now?
Maybe your new trustworthy boyfriend will or will he have a secrete from you

Does he hide something just like you do? What if he isn't saying something?
You tell him, He dies, you find out his secrete
You’re almost only alone in this harmful world,
Till your brother opens up and door to you,
One that promises a better life, one that promises God
