Life Can't Go On-Slam Poetry

Life Like this Can't Go On

Open your eyes; see the dramatic world as if you were seeing through my small eyes.
People Living theor sour lives, People dieing their tasteless deaths.
Yet this rough life must go on.
They say their troubling lives will be okay,
Each day things will change.
Cause life this loose must go on.
Teens living lives behind closed doors.
Hiding the drugs that they think are rubies.
And the fact that they are plotting their own massive suicide,
Wanting to drag the silver shiny sharp blade across their small delegate wrist.
But life this frail must go on
Parents fighting in their shabby room attempting to stay hush,
Banging their fist against the strong wall
But trying to be silent so the children don't hear.
However this muddy life must go on.
We see the poor living on the ramshackle streets,
Struggleing to survive this awkward existence.
But we ignore because we are so so shallow,
Saying life must go on and on.
Like the sun and the moon that dance in the sky.
Ignoring the truth, Ignoring everything we know that exists in this dingy life.
This isn't changing, you don't just snap your fingers and its different.
Step up, be honest with what you see.
Our Society is dying because all they are doing is lying.
Covering up every rotten secrets.
Just saying we will let it be,
But if it was up to me, Yes Me.
Life wouldn't go on
We would step up and say
Life can not go on in this distasteful lifestyle
And change the world as I see through these small eyes
I want to be the one who makes a difference and steps up to the plate,
Like the batter about to hit the ball with a bang.
Be who I say I am, and not one of those hypocrites.
Then it all shall be fine and we can say,
Life can go on and on now.
Just like that
